    This program provides traumatically brain injured, mobility impaired, and physically disabled adults support services which include: case management, encouragement in the development of social, employment related and/or independent living skills, personal care services, assistance with cooking and cleaning and 24 hour staff coverage.

Services provided, via Best Care, include nutritionally balanced meals, weekly light house keeping and laundry service, home health aide and home nursing, (personal care at home as needed).

    East Side Neighborhood Services (Senior Place)

    Senior Place houses a congregate dining site, has a food shelf, provides health programs, has an outreach counselor, conducts the Senior Aide Program, has a training and employment program, cooking program, exercise program, conducts recreational activities and has a transportation program. Senior Place has been designated a “Community Focal Point” for services to the elderly and is open 40 hours per week.

    ESNS provides youth and family community programs to Glendale residents. They also service Senior Services and Employment Services.

    This resident council has been formed after the dissolution of the Glendale Resident Management Corporation. The resident Council was actively involved in the development of the new Head Start Facility and has committed itself to continuing support of its residents and other service providers, which benefit the Glendale Community. Services and programs include an advocacy office for residents, a food shelf, and a resident welcoming committee, and the operation of their laundry facility.

    Center for Communications and Development/KMOJ Radio Station (KMOJ)

    KMOJ is a community radio station whose format is designed to educate its listeners and address issues and concerns that affect the target audience from the perspective of African American and other minority ethnic groups. KMOJ is staffed by career professionals and provides hands on training for area interns and volunteers interested in the field of broadcasting. KMOJ-FM is also included as one of the FM services on Twin Cities and surrounding area cable systems, reaching more than 1.5 million people. The station provides an array of programming including: spiritual/gospel, jazz, blues, hip hop, soul and a variety of public affairs programs.

    This center provides a variety of needed services to Korean people, particularly the elderly and newly arrived immigrants. These persons are not always well served by mainstream providers because of language and cultural barriers. Services provided by KSC include: information, referral, counseling, translation, language development and other service which assist their clients in communication and interaction with the larger culture.

    This is an assisted living service (program) site for frail and elderly adults. Services provided, via VOA Minnesota, include three nutritionally balanced meals per day in the community room, weekly light house keeping and laundry service, home health aide and home nursing, (personal care at home as needed), 24 hour emergency response and case management.

    MHRC (Rep Council) Laundry Agreement

    This project lead by the Minneapolis High-rise Rep Council provides supervisory direction, administration, and coordination to manage the laundry rooms in the 39 MPHA high-rise buildings.

    The MHRC Administrative offices are located at 1627 S. 6th Street. The MHRC is a city-wide resident organization and provides advocacy and support to highrise residents and resident councils. In addition to the Laundry Agreement, the MHRC operates a number of programs via contracts with MPHA which include: The Project Lookout (Voluntary Tenant Patrol) Program, Diversity Initiatives, and Resident Participation.

    Minneapolis Scattered Sites Resident Council (MSSRC)

    The MSSRC Administrative office is located at 555 Girard Terrace. The MSSRC is a newly organized resident council representing residents living in MPHA’s scattered site housing (i.e. approximately 1,000 single family homes). The MSSRC provides advocacy and support to scattered site residents, communicating with residents regarding resident activities and MPHA program/policy changes; making resident referral to MPHA as well as various social service organizations.

    This is one of at least 8 Head Start facilities that operate in the city of Minneapolis. The program offers pre school experiences for children in the Glendale community and a full range of related family services including health and dental services, social services and parent involvement opportunities.

    Search provides adults who have a primary diagnosis of epilepsy with 24 hour emergency assistance and monitoring services. Clients are also taught independent living skills and can receive individual counseling and support services necessary to attain their goals.

    Another assisted living (program) site that provides services to frail and elderly adults age 65 and above. Services include on site nursing 12:30-5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, on call nursing after hours, assistance with personal care, case management, three nutritionally balanced congregate meals, weekly house keeping and laundry, 24 hour emergency response, assistance with medications, weekly bathing assistance and planned recreational activities.

    VOA Minnesota Senior Services (VOA/MN) provides to residents of the high-rises case coordination services for counseling, case management information and referral, and promotes the independence general well being of MPHA resident. VOA/MN will provide group coordination services, which includes support to resident council organizations, health groups, and social and recreational activities in support of interpersonal relations and group transportation.

    Park Senior Center has worked with MPHA for over 22 years housing programs for senior citizens in South Minneapolis and providing services for residents at 1515 Park Ave. S. since its inception. The Center hosts congregate dining, a medical clinic through Hennepin County and other programs and services, which benefit MPHA residents and their surrounding neighbors. In the past few years, Senior Resources has invited other groups such as American Indian Family Services, Minnesota Elders Coalition and Elder Ride to share space and respond to need within the community. The Center also sponsors a gift shop, social and recreational activities and has social services available to elders and residents at 1515 Park.
